lane這個字即是里,在廣東很多街道都叫做里.而在香港亦有很多街道都稱為里,英文都是譯作lane,不知我有否錯誤,里這個字應該是由外文引入成為中文用字的.所以外國人應該會明白此意思.而上海人所稱為的弄堂,其實就是一條小街巷,如果你認為lane這個字不夠準確,你可以用 street 這字,縮寫是 st.

個人認為也可以使用Alley，因為lane有的時候也指公路上的車道，而alley意思比較單一。
