一般現在時是指未來將要發生而現在還沒有發生的事或動作，在句中一般有tomorrow,then next week/month/day/year,the day after tomorrow,等等它的結構為：will/shall+動詞原形，而一般shall用于第一人稱，will則可用于任何人稱．例：我們去這個聚會嗎？　　Shall we go to the party? 你明天去北京嗎？　　Will you go to Beijing tomorrow?過去將來時是指從過去的角度來說將要發生的事，一般為從句，有間接引語和直接引語．一般句中有would,should(will,shall的過去時）例：他告訴我他將會去上海．　　He told me that he would go to Shanghai.

一般將來時指的是將來要發聲什么事情，打算要怎么做。過去將來時指的是過去想要發生的事情。這是兩種完全相反的時太。

一般將來時，是說還沒發生的事過去將來時，一般用于陳述過去說過的話，話中表示將來意思的地方用過去將來時，比如說：他說過他將來要成為一個優秀的歌手．He said that he would be a excellent singer．這里的would就是will的過去式
