information 是不可數還是可數?

樓上的, 前面有人用a piece of 作家具的量詞是對的。請參見英語用法詞典。而article這個詞是否一定可以修飾家具我保留意見。article這個詞在商務英語中表示“標的”，也就是貨物名稱。如果用來表示家具的批次和類別，按你的說法也未嘗不可。樓主，對于information為什么是不可數的道理，我想給你講最簡單的道理。machine，機器，可數，但是同樣表示機器的machinery為什么就不可數呢？因為machinery= a group of machines 一組機器。機器機械的總稱。information是動詞 inform的名詞形式，表示新聞、公告、見聞等等各種渠道和形式的信息，屬于集體名詞，含有復數的概念，但作單數對待。（當然，其他的集體名詞針對個體而言是可以作復數對待的，即使如此，名詞的形式也是單數）反過來，有的名詞是復數形式，可是它又偏偏不是表示復數而是不可數的。如：earnings 收入，是由動名詞賺錢，收入加s而來，就不是強調動作而是結果了。雖然加了s，可不是復數。一些學科加了s，也不是復數如：經濟學economics物理學physics等等。
